Hudson Valley Books for Humanity presents the Context Quartet. Think globally and play often. The Hudson Valley composer/musicians that make up the Context Quartet have all spent foundational time soaking up the vibrant musical culture of NYC. Music has caused them to travel: Connie Grossman (flute) to Cuba, Todd Isler (drums) to Brazil and India, Jack DeSalvo (guitar) and Lee Marvin (bass) across Europe. You are invited to come say hello and to help them celebrate the jazz lives that they live.

Build community, make merry with music, and take home a book! Francesca Genco and Katie Down will guide you through a 2-hour experience of singing, movement, and community building. Choose your comfort level between $15 and $35 for this accessible event.
Come expand your community with us! “Human Story Swap.” When you come to a Human Story Swap, you have the opportunity to meet someone you might not otherwise get to know in your typical day. Perhaps it’s someone of a different age group, or a different cultural perspective. We provide some light guidelines, give you a conversation prompt, and arrange the group in pairs. We practice active listening while we engage in a structured 20-minute conversation, after which we all come back together and share something with the group about your conversation partner. Your hosts are Angie Soberal, Leana Rutt, and/or Betsy Kates. Come on your own or bring a friend! Our only hope is that you come with an open mind and leave with a full heart. Advance RSVPs strongly recommended
