Find the best education events and make the most of your time in Ringwood. From education to music and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Join us for a naturalist-led nature walk as we learn about our trees and plants in our local forest while sipping on some foraged tea! From the tiniest spring wildflower to the tallest trees in the forest (Tulip Trees here in NJ!) plants are the backbone of any habitat and shape our landscapes and ecosystems. On this guided slow paces nature walk, we will discuss tree and plant identification and look at some of the interesting and important species in our Highlands forest, and how those plant communities support wildlife.
Learn or improve your fire starting skills now! This goes for being in the outdoors or starting one in the backyard on a relaxing evening. In order to officially secure your spot in this event and receive the details email to let you know where to exactly park and meet us you must register and pay on our site by visiting the link below. https://www.trailboundproject.com/service-page/fire?referral=service_list_widget Do you struggle to start a fire or keep one going? Are you confident you can start a fire in an emergency - in a driving rain? In the snow? Fire keeps us warm, dries us out, and keeps us company. It can save your life. This class prescribes exactly what to carry and fine-tunes your technique for reliable results. After taking this class, you will know exactly the items to carry in your pack to start a fire in any conditions. They are proven, redundant, and dependable time and time again. In addition, students will learn fire theory - why things burn, what to burn, and what not to burn. Sure, fire-making skills are survival techniques, but this isn’t a survival class. These are basic skills everyone should have to enjoy cooking on camping trips, campfires on backpacking trips, fires in your fireplace, and of course, yes, in a survival emergency.
