Join us for an inspirational Retreat Day from The Resilient Activist, in collaboration with the Missouri River Bird Observatory! Saturday, May 2, 2026 10:30 am - 4:00 pm Runge Conservation Nature Center 330 Commerce Drive, Jefferson City, MO Minimum enrollment: 15; Max 30 Five Essentials for a Resilient World - Nature Renewal Guided by The Resilient Activist’s Founder, Sami Aaron While the idea of creating a healthy, resilient world can feel exciting, uplifting, and motivating, it can also feel overwhelming! Five Essentials for a Resilient World These practices for sustainability and profound well-being invite participants to engage with sustainable living through thoughtful nature-based approaches. By harmonizing daily habits with eco-conscious values, individuals and communities can cultivate deeper connections to Earth and actively contribute to the emergence of a regenerative, truly resilient world. The Essentials include: Reconnect to Nature: Re-establish your intrinsic bond with the living world. Respect All Life: Embrace reverence for every creature and ecosystem. Regreen Our Planet: Participate actively in restoring Earth's verdant beauty. Revamp Our Spending: Align your consumption with conscious, sustainable choices. Replenish Our Resources: Learn to nurture both inner and outer abundance. Through journaling, guided mindfulness practices, and lots of heartfelt conversation, you’ll leave with a deeper sense of how to live from a deeply embodied nature connection. Each participant will create a personal Five Essentials for a Resilient World take-home plan. What to Bring While we'll be indoors for much of the day, participants WILL be invited to go out to the deep nature surrounding the building for some parts of the retreat. So dress for the weather, insects, sun, etc. Each participant will receive The Resilient Activist's cork-bound journal - so bring your favorite pen or pencil! Food and Drink? Green Leaf Cafe. When you register for the event, you will have the option of purchasing a boxed lunch for $20 or of opting to bring your own meal. NOTE: Box lunches can only be purchased via orders placed BEFORE 10 am on 4/24/26. If you register after that date, you'll need to bring your own meal. Bring your own beverage container - we'll provide coffee and a selection of teas. And of course, there will be a delightful, delectable afternoon snack! The Missouri River Bird Observatory (MRBO) is dedicated to the conservation and well-being of all species. Our activism lies at the intersection of biodiversity, ecological integrity, and human health. The challenges we all face as defenders of nature require continual grounding and resilience - and that’s why we love working with The Resilient Activist! Together, we can care for our fellow wild species and remain strong in community.
