Learn to identify macroinvertebrates from our rivers and try fly tying with local experts at this fun, hands-on event! For over a decade, Little Forks Conservancy has been monitoring the water quality of the Cedar River with the help of dedicated volunteers. Using macroinvertebrate specimens collected during our bi-annual stream sampling events, we can assess river health, and you can be part of it! What are macroinvertebrates? They are defined as animals you can see with the naked eye that have no backbone. We specifically collect insects, most often in their nymph and larval stages.
