Owl Eyes Wilderness Survival's official homeschool program. This program meets twice a week for the duration of the school year. Join Owl Eyes Wilderness Survival in our new program offering for 2026, the Feather Hill Field School! After twelve years, hundreds of classes and thousands of students, we are thankful to announce our permanent homeschool program held at our main location in Pepperell, Massachusetts. We introduce to you, the Feather Hill Field School. This is our only drop off, ongoing homeschool program where students have the opportunity to study, learn and live the skills we teach. At Feather Hill Field School we follow “The Core 4” skills: plants, animals, crafting and community. Open to children ages 8-14, students will deepen their connection to nature through wilderness survival, bushcraft, homesteading, and farming. This program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-2:00pm from the beginning of September to the end of May. Each month students will focus on one long term skill (ie. bow making, basket weaving, etc.), although we will cover many different skills each day. This program is 100% outdoors, with an overhead option available in the case of adverse weather. Students will learn the many survival skills OEWS offers, along with homesteading skills such as raising animals (chickens, rabbits, sheep, and turkeys), cooking, building with tools, gardening, and many other skills depending on the interest of the group. The Feather Hill Field School will focus on student-led learning, and students have the freedom to choose which topics they will focus on.
