Find the best education events and make the most of your time in Emporia. From education to sports and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Join us for a fun and interactive day at the David Traylor Zoo! We’ll start with a guided walk around the zoo to explore the exhibits together, followed by a special introduction to some of the animals where you’ll learn more about their care, habitats, and unique personalities. After the program, families are invited to stick around and enjoy the space—feel free to bring a picnic lunch and relax while continuing to explore the zoo at your own pace. It’s a great opportunity to learn, connect, and spend time outdoors together!
Practice Spanish and English in a fun, relaxed setting! Meet new people, build confidence, and connect across cultures at Language Exchange. Join us for an evening of language, culture, and connection! The Language Exchange is a welcoming space where Spanish and English speakers come together to practice, learn, and share. Whether you’re just starting out or already conversational, this event offers a supportive environment to build confidence and improve your skills.
You know enough Spanish to be dangerous. Let’s put it to good use with Se Habla Español: Intermediate 1. You’re no longer starting from scratch—and that matters. Se Habla Español: Intermediate 1 is for learners who have a strong foundation in Spanish and are ready to move from “getting by” to communicating with more clarity and confidence. In this class, we focus on expanding what you can already do. You’ll work on expressing opinions, telling short stories, and navigating more complex everyday conversations. We introduce new structures and vocabulary, but always in service of real communication, not memorization. Intermediate 1 continues the Se Habla Español approach you know: conversation-first, supportive, and community-centered. You don’t need to be fluent—but you should be comfortable speaking in the present tense and willing to stretch a bit.
