This 5K is more than a race — it’s a step toward awareness, research, and hope for those living with EDS and HSD. The Ehlers-Danlos Society is dedicated to advancing and accelerating research and education for Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD). Their work supports the development of effective, equitable therapies and brings together researchers, clinicians, and patients to improve the lives of those affected by EDS and HSD. For me, this mission is deeply personal. Living with EDS/HSD means navigating daily life with challenges that are often invisible to others. It can mean chronic pain, joint instability, fatigue, and symptoms that don’t always have clear answers. Like many in this community, my journey has included uncertainty, delayed understanding, and the need to constantly advocate for myself in medical spaces just to be heard and believed. The Ehlers-Danlos Society represents hope in that journey. Through their focus on Care, Access, Research, and Education, they are actively changing the future for people like me — by improving medical awareness, supporting meaningful research, and working toward a healthcare system where patients with EDS and HSD receive informed, compassionate care. This fundraiser exists because progress matters. Better research leads to better treatments. Better education leads to earlier diagnoses. Better access leads to improved quality of life. By supporting this cause, you’re not just donating to an organization — you’re supporting real people, real experiences, and a community that deserves understanding, resources, and a better future. Thank you for being part of that change.
