Former DSO Concertmaster and current Chicago Lyric Opera violinist Eleanor Bartsch makes a highly anticipated return to perform one of the most beloved works in the American violin repertoire: Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto. The concerto unfolds like a panoramic landscape - in a vivid musical journey through the heart of American expression: expansive, bold, and profoundly moving. Members of the Dubuque Symphony Youth Orchestra join the DSO in a special side-by-side performance of Jean Sibelius' Finlandia. From its brooding, windswept opening to its soaring climaxes and moments of hushed introspection, Sibelius' Symphony No. 1. paints an evocative soundscape - both intimate and epic - a perfect finish for a concert rooted in musical connection and powerful storytelling. - At 1pm prior to each Sunday Classics Concert, Intriligator gives a pre-concert lecture in the theater.

Peppa Pig, along with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, George, and new baby sister Evie, are coming to Dubuque for PEPPA PIG: MY FIRST CONCERT. This interactive event is a fun introduction to a live orchestra for ages 18 months and older. Join Peppa and George to learn about the different sounds that instruments make together. Enjoy favorite music from the show played by a live orchestra and discover other exciting orchestral pieces perfect for children. Plus, some little piggies can join Peppa and her family to make music of their own! Enhance your visit with a post-performance meet and greet with a character from Peppa Pig - My First Concert. The package includes a photo opportunity with the character, a plush toy, and other surprises.
