Make a lantern puppet for the Sandy Springs Lantern Parade! It is crazy fun to parade with a lantern puppet! These lantern puppets are very easy and can be as simple or elaborate as you like. It’s your design. Think of them as a fantastical second-self, a playful critter native to the world of lantern parade! They are made from a 16” globe lantern decorated with colored tissue paper on a carry-stick with paper arms and body. We’re using pre-cut paper hands on rods that make for easy clapping and high-fives. This is a great project for two people. Having two puppeteers makes the puppet easier to animate, though one person can definitely handle it. All materials are provided including lights and batteries. This project is best for ages capable of using scissors and respecting hot glue. Kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Tickets are per lantern puppet. Two people are welcome to work on one lantern puppet, but please no more than two. The workshop will take every bit of 2.5 hours. Please do your best to be on time to get all the instructions.
