Slow down, breathe, and experience art in a whole new way. Our senses are how we meet the world, and art can speak to all of them. We’ll explore the galleries through sight, sound, touch, smell, and even imagined taste, noticing how each sense shapes what we see and feel. In this four-part series, explore how mindfulness can transform the way you look at and engage with contemporary art. Each session begins with a brief introduction in the classroom, followed by a guided visit to the galleries, and ends with time for reflection and conversation. Through simple mindfulness techniques, artist and mindfulness teacher Maria Schaedler-Luera will help you notice more, feel more present, and appreciate art without the pressure of finding a “right” interpretation. Whether you join for one session or all four, you’ll leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and more connected to both the artwork and yourself.

Join us for an exploration of finding peace within nature along a mostly silent walk. No prior experience needed. Recommended to wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring water and a portable chair or blanket to sit upon as we will stop to sit along the trail. Appropriate for ages 12-102.
