This course will include both classroom and field training that will help students understand the safety procedures, regulations, equipment, and techniques that are essential to operating safely at the scene of a confined space emergency. Confined space rescues can be technically challenging due to the environment in which they occur. This unique program stresses teamwork and covers the responsibility to identify a confined space and be familiar with various regulations, safety procedures, equipment, operations level techniques, and personnel necessary to operate at a confined space emergency. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a FLUSAR certificate for Confined Space Technician Level.

Este curso está diseñado para mejorar la capacidad de los participantes para dirigir lecturas de cuentos atractivas e interactivas que promuevan el desarrollo del lenguaje oral a través de la lectura dialógica. Los participantes explorarán técnicas para fomentar las habilidades lingüísticas y la comprensión de los niños mediante el estímulo de diálogos significativos y preguntas reflexivas. Al enfatizar la importancia de las conversaciones de ida y vuelta, el curso también presentará estrategias efectivas para la enseñanza de habilidades tempranas de lectoescritura, incluyendo la conciencia de la impresión y el conocimiento del alfabeto. Join PBSC for this PBC-funded training on the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, which teaches people how to better prepare themselves for hazards that may affect their communities. CERT trains them in basic disaster response skills such as team organization, disaster medical operations, fire safety, and light search and rescue. Local CERT programs train and organize teams of volunteers to assist their families, neighbors, co-workers, and other community members during emergencies when professional responders may not be immediately available to help.
This course explores the critical role of play in early childhood development, with a focus on its impact within small group settings. Through interactive sessions, participants will examine how play fosters developmental growth: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical in young children. Emphasis will be placed on the implementation of play-based strategies that promote problem-solving, coordination, manipulative skills, and early childhood growth.
Participants will design and facilitate activities and investigations into plants, the life cycles of plants and growing plants in different situations to understand what they need to survive. Also, participants will design and facilitate activities and investigations into trees and explore characteristics of trees, resources that trees provide to people and the world, and what trees need to survive.
This course will be held at the Lake Worth Campus. The Class “D” Security Officer License Program provides the 40 hours of professional training required by the State of Florida to become a licensed unarmed security officer. Students will gain a strong foundation in Florida laws and regulations, patrol techniques, report writing, emergency response, and conflict resolution. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to apply for their Class “D” license through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
