Discover the best events and make the most of your time this month in Deltona. From environment to spirituality and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Forest Bathing at Gemini Springs, a serene experience in the forest led by the Lyonia Environmental Center. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and practice mindfulness through forest bathing.
Let’s take this opportunity to enjoy nature and the great outdoors! Lace up your hiking shoes and join LEC staff as we explore the different plant and animal species that call scrub habitat their home. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, bring water, wear closed toe shoes, and be prepared to hike on unpaved, sugar sand trails. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
What better way to celebrate National Go Birding Day than with a birding hike in Lyonia Preserve? Join LEC staff for a guided hike where we will watch and listen for birds and discuss bird identification. A limited number of binoculars will be available for use courtesy of the Friends of Lyonia Environmental Center. Please dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring water, and be prepared to walk on sugar sand trails. This program is appropriate for ages 12 and up.
Do you enjoy looking at nature? Join us to be a citizen scientist for the City Nature Challenge. After a brief explanation of the challenge and its purpose, we will hike in the preserve and submit photos that will be used to document the biodiversity of Volusia County. So, let’s grab our phones, head outside, and see what we can discover! No experience required. This program is recommended for adults and children ages 10 and up.
