The goal of this course is to prepare you to be flexible and handle a variety of management circumstances, according to the label and to the law. It is expected that you have read and reviewed the manual for L&O prior to attending class. This course is designed to cover plant and turf pests, pathogens, weeds and advanced concepts in recognizing symptoms and developing solutions to lawn and turf problems using an IPM approach. This course includes the concepts of avoiding pesticide drift, understanding product rotation for resistance management, product modes of action and the principles behind using adjuvants, surfactants and tank-mixing. We also emphasize regulatory compliance and cover the duties of a certified operator as well as the requirements of FS482 and 5E-14.
