Queer Hike with Branching Out Adventures
What Seeds Are You Planting? Step into spring with a mindful, heart-centered experience with horses, meditation, and journaling.
Participants will explore watercolor techniques as they study, sketch, and bring to life the flora & fauna that live & grow on the farm. Participants will learn fundamental sketching & watercolor techniques, from mixing colors and controlling washes to layering and adding detail, while observing and sketching the local flora and fauna of the farm. Guided exercises will help you translate your observations into expressive, dynamic paintings, encouraging both careful study and creative interpretation. Along the way, you’ll develop skills in composition, color, and texture, using the shapes and patterns of leaves, flowers, and wildlife as inspiration. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with original watercolor artworks that capture the character of the farm’s landscapes, as well as the confidence to continue painting on your own.
Engage with farmworkers, hear their stories, and see their daily lives firsthand. Join us on this immersive tour! Farmworker housing is often located in remote areas, making these essential workers nearly invisible to the general public. Our tours aim to change that by bringing you face-to-face with the people who make our food possible. On this immersive tour, you'll have the chance to meet and engage in meaningful conversations with farmworkers, listen to their powerful testimonials, and experience their daily lives firsthand. You'll share their food, visit their living quarters, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face. Join us in building connections, fostering empathy, and creating a more informed and compassionate community. Be part of an eye-opening experience that will leave you with a profound appreciation for the hardworking individuals who sustain our food supply. Don't miss this opportunity to make a difference—reserve your spot on a Farmworker Reality Tour today!
Come celebrate the launch of the Seeds of Tomorrow youth poetry anthology with readings from local published high school student poets! The evening will feature a dynamic mix of live poetry readings and video screenings, alongside opportunities to meet the youth editors and creators. Together, we’ll create a shared space to celebrate creativity, storytelling, and expression.
