Cohorte híbrida CNPLC en español: formación de 20 horas sobre el cuidado de las plantas nativas de California con clases en línea e instrucción presencial.
Learn how smart pruning and seasonal maintenance can help reduce wildfire risk while keeping your garden healthy and beautiful.
Join us this February as we familiarize ourselves with oak galls. Explore the surprising alchemy of making natural pigments from locally sourced materials. In this workshop we will make oak gall ink, a purple-black or brown-black ink made from iron salts mixed with the tannic acid from oak galls. At the end of the workshop we’ll use oak gall ink to make drawings of acorns from close observation.
Join us in person, and learn how to prepare and plant a beautiful California native plant container water garden!
Ever wonder how the species in your garden get produced to find their forever homes? From seed collection and soil production to greenhouse care and container transport, there are many facets to a working nursery. Join TPF's knowledgeable docents for a guided tour of areas not open to the general public. Visit our plant propagation and seed conservation facilities, while learning more about the work that goes into maintaining the wide selection of local native plants available to gardeners across Southern California. This tour will be held outdoors in working production facilities. We ask guests to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and to prepare for up to 90 minutes of walking on steep, uneven, and potentially wet surfaces. Water bottles and sun protection are strongly encouraged.
