Living in Silver Lake, **Gus Seyffert** expanded into playing different styles of music and became a staple in LA’s East Side music scene, playing around town with his band Willoughby, as well as Inara George, Greg Kurstin, Mike Andrews, The Haden Triplets, and Benji Hughes, among many others. The name **Wife Support** started as a joke. Then it stuck. Then it got real. It’s both an embrace and a question mark. It’s someone who believes in love but wrestles with the weight of an institution that has barely evolved, someone who wakes up next to the person they adore but still feels uneasy about words like husband and forever. Musically, it wanders, on purpose. Some songs feel like old jazz standards. Some flirt with country. Some spiral like a fever dream. There’s pop, there’s folk, there’s whatever the Freak Out is. Think: Fiona Apple meets Kacey Musgraves at a very confusing dinner party, with Jenny Lewis pouring the wine and St. Vincent texting from the bathroom. There’s no helpline for women who love being in love but feel deeply uneasy about the word “wife.” No late-night infomercial for those who adore their partner but still mourn the version of themselves that existed before they became a packaged deal. That’s where Wife Support comes in. And if you need it, you already know why. **Sharaya Summers** opens. Doors at 8 PM. $15 adv (+ DICE fees)/$20 at the door ($11.25 for Initiate members, $7.50 for Sponsor members, $0 +1 for Patron members, www.healingforcerecords.com/memberships)
