This three-park workshop includes a Live Lecture, a Hands-On Photoshoot with a Model, and a Critique/Review Session Live on Zoom. Join Samy’s Camera for this hands-on photography workshop with models, including a pre-class lecture, a model shoot & post-class review session. We all take more photos of people than of any other subject, but we can make them much, much better with planning for the activity, the light, and the camera settings. This workshop includes a lecture that will cover topics including capturing models candidly or engaging them directly with the camera; the quality of soft vs. hard light, the direction of the light, and the use of reflectors; and the best camera settings for more effectively focusing attention on the subject. During the hands-on shoot, small groups limited to 4 students will photograph models, rotating locations so that everyone has a chance to photograph different models in different activities.

Photographing cats requires patience, intuition, and an understanding of subtle behavior — and this workshop is designed to help you work with feline personalities rather than against them. Join Anabel DFlux for a comprehensive workshop on everything cat photography, including the technical settings and techniques of studio portraiture! From working with the hyper, the untrained, the unruly, or the camera-shy, you will learn how to be an expert in bringing out their best sides. In this class, we’ll focus on creating refined, expressive cat portraits in a calm, controlled environment. You’ll learn how to read body language, anticipate fleeting moments, and create imagery that highlights mood, posture, and expression. Talented feline actors will be the models for this all-encompassing pet workshop, helping you build an outstanding portfolio!
