In this interactive cooking class, you'll have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and craft three quintessential San Francisco dishes that have captured the hearts and taste buds of locals and visitors alike: Cioppino, Rice-A-Roni, and Green Goddess Salad.
Get ready for lots of pasta as we prepare fresh dough, fillable pasta shapes, and build deletable bowl of seasonal goodness. Pasta is a staple at PLAYTE Kitchen because it's fun, a little messy, and easier than you think. Let’s be honest, we also love eating it! In this class, we'll focus on dough preparation and pasta shaping techniques culminating in a deliciously necessary noodle experience. Roll up your sleeves and prepare to get ready to make lots of pasta while we explore the craft of shaping ravioli, tortellini, and agnolotti. Don’t worry, we'll show you how to store and keep your fresh pasta to use anytime you want. This class is for foodies of any experience level, especially if you like playing with your food.
Get your palate-passport ready for a flavor journey to Argentina! In this class, you will learn how to make three different empanadas. We’ll guide you through each step of the empanada-making process, from making the dough to preparing the fillings and sauces followed by assembling and shaping the empanadas to ensure that they're cooked to golden perfection. You'll learn tips and tricks for creating the perfect empanada and better understand the cultural significance and history behind this Argentinian classic. Whether you're a seasoned cook or just starting out, this class is perfect for anyone who loves to explore new flavors and cooking techniques. Join us for a fun, interactive, and delicious culinary experience! On the menu is a selection of Argentinian empanadas (ham & cheese, Argentinian beef, and sweet corn & cheese) both baked and fried paired with traditional sauces and toppings.
Shop for the freshest ingredients during a guided tour of the Napa Farmers Market followed by a hands-on cooking class at PLAYTE Kitchen. Get ready to embark on a fully-immersive Napa Valley foodie experience! Join PLAYTE Kitchen’s very own, Chef Sandy Sauter, on a guided tour of the beautiful Napa Farmers Market, where she is also the Culinary Director. In this class, you'll have the opportunity to explore and shop for the freshest, locally sourced ingredients and meet the local farmers and artisan food producers face-to-face. After the tour, you'll have an hour of free time and be given some “market bucks” to spend at the market before heading back to PLAYTE Kitchen where Chef Sandy will guide you through the process of creating a delicious meal utilizing the ingredients you just purchased. With hands-on instruction, you'll learn how to prepare and cook each dish, while also picking up tips and tricks for creating dishes that showcase the flavors of the season. By the end of the class, you'll have not only expanded your culinary knowledge and skills but also have a newfound appreciation for the importance of utilizing fresh, local ingredients in your cooking. On the menu is a seasonal farmers market salad, parmesan risotto with market meats, cheeses and vegetables, and seasonal fruit galette. The PLAYTE Kitchen farmers market tour and in-person cooking classes is approximately 5 hours in length (one hour guided tour of the Napa Farmers Market, one hour of free time to explore the market, followed by 2 hours cooking in the kitchen at PLAYTE Kitchen Studio and an hour to enjoy the food you’ve prepared). All guests will be provided kitchen towels, aprons, a class recipe packet to take home, and plenty of foodie fun along the way. A confirmation email will be sent upon ticket purchase with all the info you’ll need to know prior to arriving for your class.
