Cassandra is a 72-minute Canadian drama about Seymour, an autistic musician whose world shifts when his support worker leaves. The film follows Seymour, a non-verbal autistic musician, as he navigates life after his trusted support worker moves on. What sets Cassandra apart is who made it. Autistic artist Clayton Ducharme plays Seymour, composed the original score, and helped shape the story alongside director Ben Bergeron. The production team included neurodivergent members at every level, which was a direct response to the 'nothing about us without us' principle that guided the project from the start.
The Embassy of Mexico invites you to the launch of “From the Sierra Madre to the Boreal Universe,” an anthology of Mexican-Canadian writers. Join us for an evening dedicated to the voices of Mexican-Canadian writers who navigate the rich landscapes of identity, language, migration, and cultural fusion. The evening will feature a special conversation with the contributing authors—Antolina Ortiz-Moore, Angel Mota, Romero Salaspuente, Dafne Romero, Alejandra Bernal, Alejandro Estivill (virtual), Omar Alexis Ramos, illustrator Brigitte Fournier, and Ingrid Berlanga (Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Mexico)—offering insight into their creative processes and reflecting on the dialogue between their two cultural identities.
