Music Events in Vancouver

One of the greatest trumpeters Canada has ever produced plays the 1960's music of Miles Davis. Vancouver is celebrating the 100th birthday of Jazz icon Miles Davis with a series of events. On May 08th, Brad Turner will lead an all-star quintet featuring music from the 1960's.

The 1970's & 1980's music of Miles Davis performed live! Two great live bands play the 1970's & 1980's music of Miles Davis. Vancouver is celebrating the 100th birthday of Jazz icon Miles Davis this May with a series of events covering every era of this musical trailblazer. On May 09th, Electric Miles (feat. Ron Samworth & Andre Lachance) will peform music from seminal 1970's Miles albums like Bitches Brew & On the Corner, and Star People (led by Feven Kidane) will perform music from great 1970's albums like Amandla & We Want Miles.

On May 21, a new trio featuring three Jazz legends performs in Vancouver for the very first time! Fareed Haque, Peter Washington, and Mike Clark will be performing in Vancouver together for the very first time, in a One Night Only concert at the Revue Stage that can't be missed. This performance is presented by Infidels Jazz.

18 person Jazz Band Plays Original Music. Chris Berner is one of the most exciting composers on the Vancouver Jazz Scene, with his original music having been performed by artists like Bria Skonberg & the Hard Rubber Orchestra. He'll be leading his own 18 person Jazz band at the American on May 31, performing his own original music written for Jazz orchestra. This performance is part of Very Big Bands at the American, a new monthly series presented by Infidels Jazz.
