Find the best science events and make the most of your time in Wollert. From education to spirituality and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.

Join us after dark to explore the fascinating, often overlooked world of moths and other nocturnal insects at this BioBlitz event, part of the 2026 City Nature Challenge. Guided by Dr Luis Mata, this citizen science event will focus on recording nocturnal insect species using a method called lightsheeting—a LepiLED entomological (insect) light set against a white canvas sheet to attract insects in a gentle, non-invasive way. Every observation you make adds to a better understanding of the diverse and often overlooked nocturnal insect life along Darebin Creek. Set within the beautiful Grassy Eucalypt Woodlands of Wollert, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the woodland after dark and deepen your understanding of nocturnal biodiversity. Suitable for all ages and levels of experience.
