Join the Mother’s Day Classic on Sunday 10 May 2026 to walk or run in support of lifesaving breast and ovarian cancer research. Take part in the Colac run or walk at Colac Botanic Gardens from 8am to raise vital funds for breast and ovarian cancer research. The course follows the Upper Track of the Colac Botanic Gardens, offering a scenic, mostly flat loop through garden surrounds. Participants complete multiple laps and finish near the event village, guided by the pink Mother’s Day Classic flags.

Join artist Jo Wade for a hands-on mixed media workshop creating your own journey story scroll in textiles. Jo will guide you through creating your journey story scroll on textiles for you to take home. The inspiration for your work can come from the landscape, your own story, family treasures or everyday items, or the Journey exhibition on at the Makers Space from the Ada Artist Collective. We’ll use mark making and drawing as form of resist. We’ll explore and experiment with textile layering, embroidery and stitch. Be ready to combine your creativity with basic hand stitching skills to create your personal story. The only thing you need to bring is yourself. All materials are provided but you’re welcome bring your own favourite pieces e.g. images, material or memorabilia to inspire your work. *This workshop takes place over two consecutive Saturdays.
Get hands-on and craft your own cool tooled leather journal in this fun, in-person workshop! Tooled Leather Journal Workshop is a six-hour workshop where you’ll design and create a personalised tooled-leather cover for an A5 journal, complete with a soft coloured lining and magnetic closure. After planning your design, you’ll learn to tool, dye, finish, and hand-stitch your cover, with the option to add your own conchos or decorative elements. Journals are available on the day for $8, and kangaroo lacing can be used instead of thread for a small additional cost. You’ll leave with increased confidence, creative development, social connection, and a beautifully crafted, functional artwork made by your own hands.
