A free service to safely dispose of toxic household chemicals. With community safety in mind, Detox Your Home events are drive-through (no walk-ins) and contactless. This service is for household chemicals only. The following items are accepted: Acids and alkalis Aerosol cans (empty cans go in household recycling) Anti-freeze, brake fluid, car body filler, car wax cleaners – ammonia based Coolant Detergents, disinfectants and drain cleaners Fertiliser Fire extinguishers (non-halon only) Floor-care products and waxes Fuels – petrol, diesel, kerosene, other Glues – water-based and solvents Herbicides and weed killers Insect spray and pesticides Nail polish remover Oven cleaner Pool chemicals Rat poison Solvents Thinners, turps and paint stripper Transmission fluid Wood preservatives and finishes (oils and varnish) full list of accepted items on our website Paint is not accepted at this event
