Mother's Day Kids Workshop. Dates from Saturday 2nd May 2026. Find event information.
Positive Birth and Parenting Workshop consists of two sessions held on Saturdays for two weeks. You can attend the workshop either online or face-to-face at Westmead Hospital. Workshop dates are as follows: Week 1: Week 2: If you attend this program you are entitled to attend a breastfeeding workshop for free. Arrive at 8:45 am. You must be birthing your baby at Westmead Public Hospital to receive a discounted fee. All women booked to birth their baby at another hospital must pay full fee. It is recommended to book this workshop if you are due between 6th June and 1st August 2026. Topics include but are not limited to: Mind and body working together during labour, Labouring at home and when to come to the hospital, Positions for labour and birth – being active, Birth with confidence, Evidence-based techniques for labour and birth, including acupressure, massage, breathing and relaxation, Tour of the Birth Unit, Handling and care of baby, Helping your baby's sleeping and waking patterns, Being informed about common obstetric interventions, Calming an unsettled baby, Communicating with your baby, Parenting issues – including postnatal depression, roles and identities, and more!

Attend our relaxed information-packed sessions for expectant parents and learn about the best start you can give your baby. Our courses are designed for expectant and new parents to prepare for the vital days, weeks and months after their baby's birth. We encourage parents to attend while pregnant or early after the birth.
