Dive into an inky blue world using the cyanotype printmaking technique. Screen-free and digital-free fun! School Holiday Cyanotype Print workshop at Lot 50, Yankalilla. This printing technique uses an old 19th century photographic process known as cyanotype. Children aged from 5-12 are invited to try this simple, safe and fun way of creating prints using found objects and the sun with photo-sensitive paper and fabric. They will take home their own A4 cyanotype paper print and a small cotton fabric patch to use on clothes, bags, hats etc.
Get into some fishy and plushy printing fun as we create Japanese Gyotaku-inspired prints in the style of British artist, Rhys Brown. School Holiday Japanese Gyotaku-inspired Toy Print workshop at Lot 50, Yankalilla. This printing technique uses an old 19th century pre-photographic printing process used by Japanese fisherpeople to record their trophy fish catches while out at sea. Rhys Brown is a British artist who has updated this technique to print giant stuffed soft toys. Children aged from 5-12 are invited to try this non-toxic, fun way of creating prints using a range of soft toys and model fish on paper and fabric. No soft toys or real animals will be harmed in the process!
