Join Dr Scott Leavengood as he talks about Forestry in the Pacific Northwest. Forestry is an important economic contributor to the U.S. Pacific Northwest, but it has transitioned from utilisation of old grow native forests to dependence on plantation timbers. This transition has resulted in dramatic changes to processing in the region. This presentation will overview the resources in the region, how they are processed and finish with research underway to add more value including through the use of mass timber element in building construction.
