Explore the vibrant event scene and make the most of your time in North Maleny. From environment to spirituality and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Join Hilary Pearl and Rowena Thomas at the Barung Nursery for a two-hour workshop learning the differences between grasses and sedges. We will pull apart plants to see their differences. We will learn seven of our native rainforest grasses, and four sedges, all from our local Blackall Range forests. We recommend you bring a pen, a torch (or a phone with a torch), and your own hand lens if you have one. Magnifying lenses and hand lenses will be available to use, and worksheets will be supplied as we delve deep into this group of plants. We will finish with a walk in the Barung Seed Forest.
Love native plants and wildlife gardening? Want to create a garden that hums, hops, and buzzes with life? Design Club isn’t a lecture; it’s a conversation. Bring your sketches, photos, ideas (and questions!) about your own garden. Cam will guide discussion and offer practical advice, while members share their own experiences and inspiration. Design Club is an easy way to learn, share ideas, and connect with other passionate gardeners — all while helping grow a network of wildlife-friendly gardens across the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Bring your garden dreams, curiosity, and an open notebook — and let’s design for wildlife together.
