Join Dr Michael Nagel for a fascinating professional development session at UniSC Fraser Coast. There aren’t any differences in what boys and girls can learn, but there are differences in how they process information, behave and by association, learn. These differences appear early in life, are often amplified during adolescence but tend to moderate in adulthood. Since the turn of the century and via amazing advances in technology and neuroscientific research, we have learned a great deal about the human brain and sex differences in that brain. This presentation will provide basic insights into the developing brain from birth through adolescence and then focus on some of the differences between the brains of males and females. The overall aim is to offer participants an opportunity to engage in a user-friendly dialogue about what they may encounter when interacting with young minds every day.
