The Corner House Jazz Band plays traditional jazz with a hard-driving style, and is one of Australia’s most accomplished jazz bands. The band was formed in 1980, playing at the Railway Hotel, North Fremantle, and still plays at the nearby Swan Hotel every Saturday afternoon. They have had a 20-year Friday-night residency at the famous Jazz Cellar in Mount Hawthorn. The Cellar jumps with the band's pumping and nostalgic repertoire, including New Orleans Jazz, Chicago styles, roaring 20s, Swing, Duke Ellington’s Cotton Club jungle, Louis Armstrong’s Hot Fives and Sevens, J.P. Sousa Marches, and… much, much more. The Cornerhouse Jazz Band has toured overseas, twice to the USA, to Malaysia, Japan, New Zealand and Borneo, and have played in all the Australian states.
Join us for the March Women's Insolvency Networking Lunch, a unique opportunity for women in the insolvency profession to connect, collaborate, and grow. Despite progress in many sectors, women still represent only around 16% of insolvency practitioners, with even fewer female Registered Trustees in Perth. As one of the few women in this space, I’m determined to change that by fostering stronger connections among us. This group is purely about building relationships - no affiliations, no funding, no hidden agendas. It’s simply a space for women in insolvency to come together. Join us for an informal lunch once a month to take a break from your busy day and meet new faces. Let's make sure our names are the first to spring to mind when opportunities arise. If you know other women in insolvency who might be interested, feel free to share the invite and have them email me their contact details. Let’s connect, collaborate, and grow together. I look forward to meeting you all!

Wednesday, Wednesday 11th, sees Grace Barbé performing - in a restaurant ! Playing in duo mode this is a unique opportunity for fans and curious music consumers alike to get up close to the core of the melodic, rhythmic songwriting and performing 8th wonder of the world that is Grace Barbé. Having been hand picked by Cat Empire to fulfill the bass playing duties in that wildly popular band Grace has been Gracing very large audiences with her impeccable and - we argue - superior - musicality. On this prestigious and exclusive eve, Jamie Searle will be joing Grace providing guitar accompaniment. If you've ever had a good time in front of live music in Perth you've no doubt been under the influence of this man who has many musical fingers in many musical pies. Jamie is a LONG time collaborator with Grace Barbé. It's now your opportunity to experience Grace performing her original material in a very intimate setting, Le Vivant - Perth's Euro-thru-a-French-lens Bistro. Dinners will be available on the night to order on the night SEPARATELY to the ticketed entry fee. Cuisine available ranges from French lamb cutlets, sardines, vegetarian quiche (vegan options are avail for those who email levivanthighgate@gmail.com).
