Welcome to sewing with Ariane. Having run a sewing school in Melbourne for years, it's time to begin again up here on the South Coast. Join us for a perfect time of year to polish old skills, learn new ones, and connect with the community. Ariane will help you with your own sewing machine, walking you through how to sew with the machine, including winding a bobbin correctly, threading your machine, seam allowances, sewing a straight line, sewing a point/turning a corner/pivoting, sewing curves, easing in curves, and how to stitch a French seam. Please bring your own sewing machine, pedal, bobbin, foot pedal, extension cable, machine thread, and small scissors or snips. Ariane will provide pre-cut fabric and refreshments. By joining any sewing class with Ariane, you get access to a personal Facebook sewing group where past students can ask questions and share knowledge with each other.

Welcome to sewing with Ariane. Having run a sewing school in Melbourne for years, it's time to begin again up here on the South Coast. Join Ariane Sparkles for a sewing workshop focused on using overlockers. This workshop is suitable for beginners to intermediates. You will learn how to use your overlocker machine, including threading, changing threads, cleaning, and sewing techniques. You need to bring your own overlocker machine, matching threads, extension cable, notebook, pen/pencil, scissors, tools, and spare needles. Ariane will provide pre-cut fabric, long nose tweezers, and refreshments. Please note, this class is for you to bring your own machine. This class teaches transferable skills, and you do not leave with a finished project. Ariane is not a sewing machine mechanic, but she has over 20 years of sewing skills and knowledge.
Welcome to sewing with Ariane. Having run a sewing school in Melbourne for years, it's time to begin again up here on the South Coast. You will learn many skills throughout the class, including tracing patterns, adapting patterns, sewing stretch garments together, finishing hems with an overlocker, and adding a waistband using the overlocker. Ariane will provide a pre-drafted pattern, pencils and chalk, stretch fabric, long nose tweezers, and refreshments. By joining any sewing class with Ariane, you get access to a personal Facebook sewing group where past students can ask questions and share knowledge.

Welcome to sewing with Ariane. Having run a sewing school in Melbourne for years, it's time to begin again up here on the South Coast. If you've been following the program of classes you will have just completed the how to use your sewing machine class (on either 26th April or 24th May) and be ready to get started on making a real garment! You are welcome to join this class if you haven't completed the 'how to' one... however your machine must be in good working order and you need a basic knowledge of sewing and how to use it. This class teaches how to read and understand a commercial sewing pattern, choose suitable fabrics and prep your pattern pieces, sew a clean, confident zipper, and create a non-stretch (woven) bag with a zip. You will leave with a finished project, a pattern, new skills, and the confidence to tackle your next sewing pattern on your own.
