Environment Events in Ladysmith

Many native animals rely on tree hollows for shelter, breeding and protection. However, hollow-bearing trees are declining at an alarming rate. Nest boxes can provide a suitable substitute when natural hollows are in short supply. At this workshop, participants will: build their own squirrel glider or possum nest box using pre-cut materials, learn about squirrel glider ecology, habitat needs, and local conservation efforts, hear practical tips for installing and monitoring nest boxes on properties, and make a direct contribution to wildlife recovery in our region.
