Under Tasmania’s Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022, it is compulsory for employers to ensure that all workers who may be exposed to silica dust receive crystalline silica training. This requirement became effective on 1st September 2024. Employers are also obligated to provide supervision and ensure that workers understand and adhere to safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
