As part of **RECESS**, Obie Award–winning actor, playwright, and performance artist **Jennifer Kidwell** will lead a processional from the corner of N. 8th St & Cecil B. Moore to Power Market (1835 W. Oxford Street). This approximately one-mile walk along city sidewalks will highlight Philadelphia’s rich jazz history. Drawing on her training in clown and physical theater, she makes research-intensive, performer-driven works that interrogate and challenge prescribed ways of being. By embracing discomfort and disrupture, she invites all involved to step out of their comfort zones and into the unexpected. She facilitates a playful, exploratory relationship between musicians and audience.
