Join us April 16-18 in Cincinnati, OH for the 2026 meeting of the Midwest region of the American Academy of Religion! The conference begins at 3pm on Thursday, April 16th and will end at 12:30pm on Saturday, April 18th. You only need to register once, regardless of how many days of the conference you plan to attend (and we hope you will attend them all!). Panels and opening night reception will take place at the University of Cincinnati. We are pleased to offer two pre-conference tour opportunities, free to attendees! If you are in town by 9:30am you can join a tour of the gorgeous, historic Plum Street Temple! Then, from 12:30-2:30 people can take a guided tour of the rare book room and archives at Hebrew Union College, the oldest Jewish seminary in North America. Both tours are free, but space is limited so reserve your spot by selecting an add-on when you register! The conference costs about $100 per person to put on. We never want cost to be a barrier to participation, however. Registration starts at $10 for undergraduates, $25 for grad students, contingent faculty, and independent scholars, $100 for full time faculty, and $150 for anyone who wishes to pay full price and also subsidize a student. We appreciate anyone who gets institutional funding paying the higher rate, but please feel free to choose the registration level that matches your ability to pay, there is no verification of status required. There is also a promo code: MIDWESTAAR for free registration for anyone who finds the cost a hardship at any price point.
