Participants will create a mixed-media collage portrait honoring a matriarchal figure, drawing on inspiring artists' creative techniques. In this engaging and creative workshop, participants of all ages will design a mixed-media portrait collage celebrating a meaningful matriarchal figure in their lives. The session begins with a brief, inspiring presentation on the significance of mothers and matriarchs, as well as an introduction to portraiture and collage through the work of influential artists. Participants will then explore their own creativity by constructing a personalized portrait using a variety of materials, including tissue paper, construction paper, and magazine cutouts. Through layering textures, colors, and patterns, each participant will bring their chosen figure to life in a unique and expressive way. The workshop concludes with an opportunity for participants to share their artwork, reflect on their creative process, and celebrate the powerful figures who inspire them. This experience not only builds artistic skills but also fosters connection, storytelling, and appreciation.
