The 'LACA 10-Minute Play Festival: Tales For the Stage' will take place April 10-12 in the art center's Bob & Kay Neal Performance Hall. This year’s 10-Minute Play Festival contest saw entries from 40-plus Michigan based playwrights. This year’s winning plays include: “37 Origami Bees” by Jacquelyn Priskorn of Troy, Mich.; “Incident on the Golden Gate Bridge” by David MacGregor of Howell, Mich.; “Wine DNA” by Erin Osgood of Brighton, Mich.; “I Ain’t No Quincy Jones” by Marilyn Zerlak of Farmington Hills, Mich.; “Mourning Dove” by Madison Dix of Manistee, Mich.; “Mike and Amy and Dave and Diane” by Maripat Allen of Manistee, Mich.; “Lobe’s Labour’s Lost” by Nicole L.V. Mullis of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and “Goodnight, Prometheus!” by Ann Stofflet of Saline, Mich. This year’s festival will again be directed by Maripat Allen and Nicki Danyluk who will enlist a cast of local actors/actresses to bring these plays to life. Tickets for the four performances of the 10-Minute Play Festival are just $25 in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $30. Show times for the April 10 and 11 performances are 7:30 p.m. and the April 12 performance will begin at 2 p.m. Friday performances of the 10-Minute Play Festival will include a cash bar hosted by LACA volunteers.
