This training explores the unique dynamics of stepfamily systems and ethical concerns when using traditional nuclear family models. Participants will examine key structural and developmental differences between stepfamilies and nuclear families, with particular attention to ethical principles such as beneficence, nonmaleficence, competence, and cultural responsiveness. Through case examples and practical discussion, clinicians will learn to identify common clinical pitfalls and adapt their conceptualization, assessment, and treatment approaches to more accurately and ethically serve stepfamily clients.

Join us as we document the biodiversity in Kathryn Albertson Park as part of the 2026 Ada County City Nature Challenge. During this afternoon event, we will be tabling at the front of the park providing resources to aid in exploring and documenting the wild organisms found throughout this unique park. City of Boise Parks & Rec staff will guide participants through iNaturalist basics, be available to answer questions, and celebrate discoveries. Volunteers are encouraged to look for the City of Boise table and tent near the entrance and are welcome to join in for all or any portion of the afternoon.
