5k fundraiser walk for survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. Rain or Shine! 4th Annual 5k Freedom Walk and Human Trafficking Resource Fair brought to you by Sparrow Freedom Project and endorsed by the Macomb County, Oakland County, and Wayne County Prosecutors Offices. WALKING FOR A CAUSE RAIN OR SHINE! Raising money for our safehouse. Cricket Field RAIN OR SHINE on beautiful Belle Isle on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 8am to 11:30 am. Must have a 2026 Recreation Passport sticker on your license plate or purchase one at the booth upon arriving on Belle Isle. Check in from 8am to 9:00am. Welcome by the Executive Director at 9:00am. Brief Speech by the Hon. Melissa L. Pope Chief Judge, Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Tribal Court at 9:05am. Stretching from 9:15am to 9:30am. Start Time at 9:30am. The cost is $40 per a person or $20 per active student (ages 13 to university level). Price includes a t-shirt and goody bag. More details about pricing is in the registration. Information about picking up t-shirts before the day of the walk will be emailed out. Children 12 years old and younger may participate for free with registered adult, but there will be no t-shirts available. Must register by May 6, 2026 at 7:00pm. We will have a DJ, food trucks, water stations, snacks, and resources available shedding light on the realities of human trafficking in our region and beyond. After the walk, peruse the resource fair learning about all of the resources and agencies available to victims and survivors of trafficking. Law enforcement, agencies, non-profits, and other service providers will be on the Cricket Field from 9am to 2pm sharing their information.
