Panel members will present their initial findings for the Spring-Run JPE Peer Review and hear from the public. At the request of the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), the Delta Science Program is facilitating an independent scientific peer review of the spring-run juvenile production estimate (SRJPE), which forecasts the number of young salmon entering the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta on their way to the Pacific Ocean. The purpose of this independent scientific peer review is to evaluate the scientific approach developed for calculating an annual SRJPE and provide recommendations to DWR and the multi-agency team responsible for its development. Feedback from this review will be incorporated into the plan prior to submittal to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the National Marine Fisheries Service for approval. An independent panel of five reviewers with expertise in salmon and quantitative analysis will produce a joint review report in April 2026.
