A Palestinian Tatreez Workshop introduces the history and meaning of Palestinian amulets, guided by the writings of Tawfiq Canaan. Participants will explore the medicinal, protective, and spiritual qualities embedded in traditional objects and materials across Palestinian history. The session then shifts into a hands-on experience, where attendees learn foundational tatreez embroidery techniques. Using ingredients such as bay leaves, alum, miswak, and aromatic spices, participants will craft their own hanging Palestinian amulet. By the end of the workshop, each person will leave with a deeper understanding of cultural symbolism and a handmade object rooted in ancestral practice.
