Vernaculars, a collective ensemble of Bay Area-based artists, will perform Sonny Sharrock's final album 'Ask the Ages', featuring a twin-guitar frontline by Karl Evangelista and David James. The event is a rare performance of this influential free jazz album in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, $15 for students/low-income individuals, and children under 12 are free. The venue, The Back Room, is an all-ages, BYOB space, ADA accessible, and encourages mask use for safety.

Makuru features Mandjou Kone, a renowned singer from Burkina Faso, weaving traditional music and dance into her performances. Rasa Lila brings the ancient call-and-response tradition of Kirtan to the East Bay, led by KPFA Music of the World host Joanna Manqueros on harmonium and vocals, with driving tabla rhythms and resonant bass clarinet.
