Find the best art events and make the most of your time this month in Ann Arbor. From music to finance and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.
Poets Claire Taylor and Mitch Nobis will join us at Booksweet to celebrate the launch of Claire’s poetry collection April and Back Again!
Join us for Crafternoon, a self-guided, themed crafting session with reuse materials! Our weekly themes vary, offering exciting inspiration like seasonal decor, toys for pets, paper crafts, and unusual material challenges. All materials provided. This week's theme is Art Plants! 🪴
In this workshop, you'll select and put together fabric to form the pages of an embroidery book. Class includes pre-washed, pre-cut fabrics to complete the book, a needle, and an assortment of embroidery thread to get you started! A finished Fabric Book could be filled with stitches to tell a whimsical story, or be used as a workbook to learn and practice new stitches. Explore a variety of beads and fabric scraps to embellish your book while you're in the studio. This workshop is both practical and imaginative!
In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of shuttle tatting, including making rings and chains, joins, and picots. In addition to the materials used in this 3 hour instructor-led class, the price of this workshop includes an illustrated handout, a tatting shuttle to take home, and a ball of crochet cotton to take home.
Artist Nicole Marroquin will lead a print making demonstration and conversation about American Sampler: Activating the Archive.

Come and experience a world of creativity, inclusivity, and limitless self-expression at our Queer Crafternoon event! Once you arrive at SCRAP's studio space, we'll introduce you to our materials. You can choose from pre-planned ideas (dependent on month), come with a plan, or you can brainstorm your own. We'll also provide you with other inspiration and ideas based on the materials we have available. We always have collage materials on hand, which you can use to create magnets, zines, tealight votives, and more. Let your imagination run wild! If the space is at capacity, priority will be given to those who register, arriving within the first 10 minutes. Afterward, it is first-come, first-served for those who drop in. Youth 16-17 years old do not need to be accompanied by an adult; however, a release form must be signed by the parent/guardian.
