What's On in Ladysmith

Nanaimo’s award-winning youth fiddle ensemble, FIDDELIUM, will be playing St. Mary's Church in Ladysmith with guests, Nanaimo Folk Band. Fiddelium features over a dozen young string players (violin, viola and cello) backed by a rhythm section of piano, guitar and drums/percussion. This is not your average fiddle group: Fiddelium has represented Vancouver Island on the national stage several times and was awarded the 2023 Canadian Folk Music Award in recognition of their outstanding performance skills. This year’s concert features tunes from Scotland, Quebec, Sweden, Ireland, Spain, Texas and British Columbia. Don’t be fooled: this group of 20 youth will completely amaze you with their musicianship and stage presence. Come to a Fiddelium show and you will leave as a Fiddelium fan!
