We used to talk about cultural awareness, the time for awareness has passed. Our workshop is focused on deepening your need for cultural responsiveness and recognising Indigenous voices. We will highlight conversations about understanding cultural context in many different situations, but also how to use new knowledges to navigate the space. This workshop will cover; Understanding Privilege and Bias: Recognising the impact of privilege and Bias in the community and/or sector Cultural Safety and Corporate Load: Exploring cultural safety vs corporate load Building Organisational Capability: Strategies to build organisational capability.

Training for Lived experience (Peer) workers and other people who facilitate peer groups and activities, in Broome. At the completion of this session, you will be able to: Understand how to create an effective peer group. Understand how to create safer and more inclusive spaces. Identify key facilitator skills and reflect on personal facilitation challenges. Learn different methods that support group participation. Learn how to navigate common challenges and disruptions.
Join our workshop Self-Advocacy 101: An Introduction to Self-Advocacy in Mental Health, developed through the My Voice project. In this module, you will learn: What self-advocacy is, and how it is connected to mental health. What your mental healthcare rights are and how to use them. How knowing about self-advocacy and mental healthcare rights can make you feel more empowered. How to use a self-advocacy guide. Why it is important to maintain your wellbeing while self-advocating.
