Renowned US experimental metal trio SUMAC will make their long-awaited Australian debut in February 2026! Australia looks forward to them bringing their boundary-pushing live show to Auckland, Wellington, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Formed by Aaron Turner (ISIS, Old Man Gloom), Nick Yacyshyn (Baptists), and Brian Cook (Russian Circles, Botch), SUMAC have carved a reputation as one of the most uncompromising and visionary acts in modern heavy music. Their sound merges colossal sludge, free-form improvisation, and avant-garde exploration—constantly shifting between structured heaviness and total sonic freedom. Erupting through the streets of Hobart comes Spooky Eyes, the loudest band in Tasmania/ Lutruwita, punishing ears with their eclectic brand of amplified psychedelic blues at Shotkickers on Friday 6th February, 2026. Spooky Eyes will be joined by SHUM & The Clue on their Australian Album Tour, hot off the heels of a successful run of shows & supporting slots for the likes of Foo Fighters, Jack White & Wolfmother, slots at Tasmania's most renowned festivals such as Party In the Paddock 2025 & Dark Mofo. Joined by childhood friends Jaxon Bassett on drums and partner in crime Piper Rayner on bass guitar, Spooky Eyes just announced their debut album set to release Jan 2026, featuring the first single, a cover of The Count Five's Psychotic Reaction'. Kicking off in 2022 with the release of Leaves, what started as a solo project by frontman Jude Hastings quickly evolved into a full-blown live show - swapping jangly chords and synths for fuzzed-out riffs and a thumping rhythm section. Their new sound is rooted in the blues, psych, rock and proto-metal of the early 60s and 70s, blending the soul of Cream and Howlin' Wolf with the power and heaviness of Blue Cheer, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Sabbath.
