Find the best history events and make the most of your time in Castlemaine. From music to technology and more, we have the biggest event range and best discovery experience, there's something for everyone.

This historical film features photographs, film, graphics and interviews with leading peace movement participants. Each element is woven together to form a richly painted picture of Australia’s vibrant and vigorous peace movement. The film covers the Anti-conscription Movement against the First World War, the Ban the Bomb campaigns of the 1950s and 1960s, and the Anti-conscription, Call up refusals and the massive National demonstrations against the Vietnam War.
Join Uncle Rick for this unique tour out on Djaara Country in the Castlemaine region where you will visit significant trees and sites that Uncle Rick has specifically selected. This tour starts at the Castlemaine Market Building at 10am and aims to return around 12pm. We HIGHLY recommend leaving time before or after the tour for a visit to the Boorp Boorp Boondyil exhibition inside the Market Building.

A unique opportunity to explore the original buildings and landscape of the Castlemaine Government Camp, where official government in the district began in 1851, and to be guided through the history and changing roles of the military, police and volunteers in goldfields administration and protection.
