Daniel O’Toole is a Multimedia artist based in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) who started his career on the street art scene and is a former Benalla Wall to Wall Festival Artist. Learn about Daniel's multi-form practice through an artistic talk exploring his career progression from street art to multimedia creations for galleries and public spaces including sound, performance, and visual artworks. Daniel O'Toole is interested in how we experience the world through shifting layers of colour, light, sound, and spatial perception. Much of his work begins as a way to make sense of his own sensory reality, to translate subtle internal impressions into something physical that others can encounter. Using abstraction as a language for this, Daniel presents a way of mapping perception rather than illustrating it. His practice moves between painting, photography, video, sound, and installation. This artist talk is supported by the Benalla Rural City Council through the Community Grants funding program.
