Reef Watch SA offers a safe, guided Reef Ramble citizen science tour on Saturday, February 7. During this tour, you will learn about the wonders of the Great Southern Reef, unique intertidal plants and animals, and current marine community programs. The Oaklands Wetland is home to an extensive array of wildlife such as waders, cockatoos, ducks and many majestic river red gums. Learn how this system cleans water as it moves slowly through a series of ponds. It takes three days for the water to move through the wetland, where it can be injected into aquifers almost 100m below ground. More than 31 local parks and reserves, street trees and playing fields are irrigated with water from Oaklands Wetland.
