Mornington Island's Cultural Awareness Induction Program was developed in 2007 as an interactive information session for all Visitors. The Mornington Island Cultural Awareness Induction Program was developed in 2007 as an interactive information session for visitors to Mornington Island. The Mornington Island Shire Council subsequently endorsed Mirndiyan Gununa (Mornington Island Arts and Culture Centre) to deliver the program to all visitors working on, or providing services to, Mornington Island. This engaging and interactive Induction Program is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to better understand matters on Mornington Island including cultural protocols, current services delivered on-island as well as other general information of interest.
