Celebrating an exciting new chapter — and proudly welcoming one of Stanthorpe’s own — The Two Tenors returns in 2026 with a spectacular new production. Originally conceived as TenorUS, this acclaimed collaboration now evolves into The Two Tenors, featuring founding tenor Roger Davy, former member of The Ten Tenors and performer with Opera Australia, alongside Stanthorpe local Mathew Leigh. Mathew’s homecoming adds a powerful community connection to this world-class event. Trained at the Australian Institute of Music, he is an award-winning musical theatre performer whose recent title role in Jekyll & Hyde earned him a Gold Palm Award for Best Actor. His impressive credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, Jersey Boys, Into the Woods, Oliver!, Mamma Mia!, School of Rock, and appearances at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. In The Best of Josh Groban, the duo is joined by Brisbane soprano Gabrielle Diaz, a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and performer with Opera Queensland. A two-time recipient of the QCGU Donald Penman Prize, Gabrielle has performed leading roles including Musetta (La Bohème), The Spirit (Dido and Aeneas), and Javotte (Manon). Audiences will be swept away by favourites including You Raise Me Up, The Prayer, To Where You Are, You’re Still You, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Anthem, The Impossible Dream, a stirring Les Misérables medley, Music of the Night, and the triumphant finale Nessun Dorma. Beyond the Groban repertoire, the program spans Broadway, rock, light opera, swing, and contemporary classics — with tributes to Andrea Bocelli, Queen, Simon & Garfunkel, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and more.
